BJM’s Postponed Performance Finally Arrives!

Uncategorized

After being pummeled by snow in February, the Valentine’s day special presentation of Ballet Jazz de Montreal was postponed to this Spring. Though we thought Spring would never come, it has truly arrived and so now the much loved group is welcomed back to finally present their 3 part production at the Rebecca Cohen for one night!

Live Art Dance productions will be presenting Ballet Jazz de Montreal next Wednesday; the perfect alternative to dinner and a movie; a live production of the world renowned dance company. Known for it’s exploration of contemporary and innovative work while paying homage to the classical ballet aesthetic, the group is a much anticipated part of Live Art’s season. With 3 choreographies to present, the well rounded show is sure to treat everyone!

O Balcao de Amor will transport you to the world of Caribbean Dance with it’s Cuban Mambo Music inspired work by Israeli choreographer Itzik Galili.

Closer is a look at the negative space and tension inherent in relationships set to a soundtrack by (one of my favourite composers) Philip Glass by Benjamin Milliepied.

Finally Kosmos enters the realm of humanity and their interactions in the city environment. Choreographed by Andonis Foniadakis the work derives its inspiration from the “Urban Frenzy”.

An exquisite opportunity to enjoy 3 uniquely distinct contemporary works by world-class dance artists, hope to see you there!

If you already have tickets, Live Art asks that you reconfirm your attendance for April 19 by calling (902) 420-0003.
